Council adopts Copyright Directive - ERA Portal Austria

The Council adopted the new EU Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market on 15 April 2019. The Council decision was welcomed by the European Commission. The aim of the new Directive is stated as being to establish new rules ensure providing adequate protection for authors and artists, while opening up new possibilities for accessing and sharing copyright-protected content online throughout the European Union.
