---

The working group “Scientific practice” has published the discussion paper “Expanding Scholarly Practices of Publishing in the Context of the Digital Turn”. The discussion paper is published in German and in English. It reports on an expert dialogue on the transformation of scholarly publishing in the wake of the digital turn. The dialogue was held by representatives of different scholarly communities. The paper points to the ongoing expansion of scholarly publishing practices and, concomitantly, to the differentiation of scholarly publishing formats, which hold great potential for the strengthening and advancement of Open Science. However, fully unfolding this potential requires new and differentiated rules, conventions, standards, and responsibilities as well as a more substantial support for the academic staff which is currently unequally burdened with the challenges of this transformation.
