Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Product Manager (m/f/d) (fulltime or part time min. 35 hours per week) to join our Software & Development Department.

In this role you will be responsible for the Wikibase Suite product line. The Wikibase Suite  allows institutions to create and host their own linked knowledge base with maximum customizability. The Wikibase Suite is currently used by GLAMs (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, Museums), research groups, and the public sector alike (example). Amongst others, it is used by flagship institutions, i.e. institutions that are so influential in their sector, that they attract other institutions to become part of the ecosystem as well. 

As product manager of Wikibase Suite, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team and the product team, and work closely with a broad variety of stakeholders in the Wikibase Ecosystem.

Your Responsibilities:

  • You are responsible for the vision and strategy of the Wikibase Suite product line.
  • Together with the Product Manager Wikibase.cloud, you will drive the strategy for Wikibase products outside of the Wikimedia context. 
  • You will understand the landscape in which the Wikibase Suite exists and the different user segments with their needs and problems to solve.
  • You will define and prioritize product initiatives in close collaboration with partners, stakeholders and the emerging communities within the Wikibase Ecosystem.
  • You will define objectives and success criteria, in order to determine if the created products and features are indeed having the desired impact.
  • You will develop the product in collaboration with UX, Engineering, Partnerships and Community Communications.
  • You will align, structure, and communicate the Wikibase Suite product roadmap and do progress and status reporting to internal and external stakeholders.

About you:

  • You have product management experience in the tech sector
  • You are experienced in working in an interdisciplinary team with e.g. product managers, UX designers, community communication managers and engineers
  • You have strong product strategy skills, and experience with a variety of product management methodologies 
  • You are used to user- and data-informed decision making
  • You are a team player and can communicate well with a diverse range of people
  • You are eager to learn, collaborate across institutional boundaries and work within a volunteer movement
  • You do not shy away from difficulties, but find ways to solve them where necessary
  • You are fluent in English
  • Ideally, you have experience with cultural and/or scientific institutions and/or the public sector
