Summary:

We seek an emerging leader who understands the evolving nature of scholarly record and sustainability aspects of the emerging knowledge infrastructure. We are especially interested in candidates who have the capability to quickly assume increasing responsibility and leadership to match the ongoing growth of the program. In addition to leading our work on collections and infrastructure, the Program Manager will be an integral member of Ithaka S+R, taking day-to-day responsibility for building and contributing to a portfolio of mission-aligned projects. In this role you will work with members of the LSCM Organizations, Collections, Infrastructure, & Talent team to  support innovations that improve the evolving role academic libraries, museums, and archives play within their communities. This position will report to the Associate Director for Organizations, Collections, Infrastructure, & Talent.   Responsibilities Portfolio Building Identify opportunities for growing our portfolio such as  monitoring requests for proposals and grant funding opportunities and keeping in touch with key leaders in related areas; Develop new project ideas and prepare proposals to secure project funding in consultation with relevant staff; Develop new services, for example for collections assessment, that will be valued by libraries, archives, museums, and/or publishers; Serve as a lead within Ithaka S+R and across ITHAKA to ensure effective coordination across the organization on relevant initiatives; Cultivate relationships with potential partners, clients, and funders to lay the groundwork for new projects; Organize and take part in internal brainstorming sessions to generate ideas and discuss strategy for Ithaka S+R.  Project Management Coordinate and track activities of numerous interested groups across multiple institutions and keep team members, teams, and collaborators on track to meet deadlines; Manage, collaborate with, and mentor team members in the context of project work, including those who are not direct reports; While this position is an individual contributor role at this point, we anticipate the program area may grow in scope such that the Program Manager will supervise 1-3 direct reports. Research and analysis Design, oversee and/or execute research and consulting projects, which may take the form of: Quantitative research, such as surveys; Qualitative research, such as through interviews or focus groups; Desk research utilizing public, internal, and partner-provided sources; Managing the logistical aspects of research efforts, such as collecting and maintaining data, arranging interviews, managing relationships, and utilizing survey management and data analysis tools. Reporting and communications Write emails, memos, and briefs to communicate concepts and processes to internal and external stakeholders; Create compelling reports and presentations of research findings and recommendations; Represent Ithaka S+R at conferences, networking events, and partner meetings, with travel for research, reporting, and representation purposes amounting to approximately 10%.
