It is hard not to stay steeped in the nuances of open such as copyright or licensing or various publisher fees or all the colors of the open access rainbow (or minerals?). So, I welcomed this exercise as an opportunity to keep my eye out for interesting, fun or innovative ways to live open practices. </p>

One question asked us for our contingencies and succession plans, which was a great opportunity to formally codify what we have in place. We couldn’t find any examples of plans though, so, we’re sharing ours for others to see, integrate, and remix.</p>tag:tagteam.harvard.edu,2005:FeedItem/25586472019-11-18T10:08:05-05:002022-06-23T08:13:27-04:00Partnering with Montana State to make self-archiving simple with Shareyourpaper.org.We’re partnering with Montana State University Library, and building on years of libraries’ collective experience, to develop shareyourpaper.org. As we announced in June, shareyourpaper.org automates the deposit workflow — completing forms, checking what you can archive legally, and verifying the correct version is shared — so that authors can upload their papers without libraries having to check their work. These features can reduce the deposit process for your repository to a single click from your website, saving both depositor and library staff time.tag:tagteam.harvard.edu,2005:FeedItem/25586482019-11-18T10:08:27-05:002022-06-23T08:15:32-04:00InstantILL released in beta, with a new website. - openaccessbuttonWe’re beginning InstantILL’s Beta, and releasing a new website at InstantILL.org. We will never charge for these essential products. To us, this is the most important thing to ensure and for you to know. Our business model is simple: if our products are useful for your institution, we ask that you invest in them financially in exchange for peace of mind, recognition of your investment in open, and extra features (when they cost us to provide). We’re confident that your savings will far outweigh what we suggest that you invest. There are no complex contracts or lock-ins. Just a quick online form, an invoice, and tangible benefits for your leadership and investment in non-profit, community-owned open infrastructure. We call this our “leadership” plan.</p>
