Ouvrir la Science - Les pratiques des scientifiques en matière de publication de data papers : résultats d’une enquête menée par l’équipe de Recherche Data Gouv

The French Recherche Data Gouv team has published the results of the survey on scientists' practices in publishing data papers. The survey was conducted between September and November 2023. It asked respondents not only about data paper publication practices but also about the use of the Data Paper Creation tool offered by the Recherche Data Gouv. This tool allows to generate a data paper draft from the DOI of a dataset deposited on the Research Data Gouv warehouse.

The survey results revealed that data papers are still published not often: only 31% of respondents have already published data papers and 15.5% intend to do so in the future. 

The Data Paper Creation tool remains largely unknown and unused.
