"Next week is Open Access week!  We’ll be featuring open access-focused posts all week, so stay tuned. We’re kicking the festivities off a little early by introducing a new tool to make open access easier for funders and institutions. Many funders require the published output of research they fund to be made freely available. Funders also provide monies to institutions and/or authors for open access payments. As a result institutions are under increasing pressure to manage and report on Article Processing Charge (APC) payments from multiple funders.  How are institutions managing their open access funds? To help with funder compliance and payments for authors publishing in open access journals, a number of institutions are leading the way and setting up OA funds or Central funds allowing their authors to use these funds when publishing in open access journals ..."
