However, many of these items are stored in proprietary databases that some institutions can not afford. Products of high quality, peer-reviewed journal articles first level have been deposited in Open Access should theoretically be more easily accessible and be more cited than articles of similar quality that are only available to paying customers. Research on the effectiveness of Open Access (OA) have focused so far mainly in the natural sciences, and the results have been mixed. Because OA has not been as widely adopted in the social sciences, disciplines such as political science have received little attention in research on their impact on open access. In this study, we sought to determine the effectiveness of OA in Political Science. In this study, we sought to determine the effectiveness of OA in Political Science.
