"On February 27, 2015, the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released implementation plans for five HHS agenciesbased on a common policy approach in response to the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) 2013 memorandum regarding public access to federally funded research. The OSTP memorandum directed federal agencies with R&D budgets of $100 million or more to develop plans to make the published results of federally funded research freely available to the public within one year of publication. The five HHS agencies that released public access plans last week are the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), and theOffice of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) ..."
