Open Science perspective highlighted at e-IRG workshop in Riga

"The e-IRG workshop, held on June 3, 2015 in Riga, covered the theme of Policy Aspects of Open Science for e-Infrastructures. At this workshop the requirements and consequences of the transition to Open Science on e-Infrastructure policies were discussed. Topics covered the policies on governing the access to data, computing and networking resources, sharing of resources and the transfer of knowledge. The Workshop sessions addressed the issues on how different policies have to be adapted to support Open Science and how widening countries could benefit from these changes. Ilmars Slaidins, co-chair of e-IRG, responsible for the local organisation of the e-IRG workshop, gave a short summary of the Open Science perspective presented at the e-IRG workshop, at the Baltic HPC & Cloud Computing Conference 2015 on June 4, 2015 in Riga.
