[From Google's English] "The Swiss National Science Foundation (NSF) is continuing its efforts towards the establishment of a Swiss 'Open Access' (OA), namely open access to scientific publications. Apart from the obligation to present against researchers and researchers self-archive their publications ('green road of OA'), the SNSF now encouraging the use of 'gold road' to open access publishing: from 1 October 2013, the beneficiaries of the SNSF researchers may charge the costs of publishing in open access journals on their project budget.    Research promoted by public funds should - primarily in the interest of science itself - as far as possible available to the public, and in all free. To achieve this objective, FNS has two approaches. It requires one hand to researchers receiving grants a minimum of self-archive their publications - to the extent that there is no legal or technical insurmountable obstacles - and in the context of this 'green road of OA' is in favor of the embargo times shortest possible (less than six months). On the other hand, it supports the use of 'gold road to OA' giving researchers the possibility, from October 2013 to fund the costs of publishing in open access journals on their project budget. The provisions of FNS to allow researchers the flexibility to choose the type of publication and OA approach and are incorporated in section 4 of the Regulation on the information, recovery and rights to results of research.The FNS regulation on free access in brief FAQ: Rules on free access FNSInformation Regulations, recovery and rights to results of the researchprovisions on free access (Open Access) to scientific publications of projects encouraged by the FNS - came into force on October 1, 2013 What is Open Access? SNF provides a brief introduction to the Open Access and provides additional sources of information (without being exhaustive) .
