Summary:

'Consortium of Uganda University Libraries (CUUL) and EIFL will host a meeting to discuss the progress of open access (OA) in Uganda on April 18, 2014. The meeting will gather the institutions in one place to present their progress this far. Institutions will be represented by OA champions (researchers, research directors or librarians leading institutional OA initiatives). The aim is to discuss what worked well, share experiences and lessons learnt and plan further institutional and national level activities. The workshop is a part of the project “Open Access: Knowledge sharing and sustainable scholarly communication in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda” funded by Spider, the Swedish Program for ICT in Developing Regions DSV, Department of Computer and System Sciences, Stockholm University. For more information about EIFL’s open access work in Uganda, please contact EIFL-OA Programme Manager, Iryna Kuchma, at iryna.kuchma [at] eifl.net.'
