"The open-access movement is a possible solution to the slow death which they are intended books once finished their 'shelf life.' that life for the vast majority of what is published, regardless of quality, is very short. 'Life short' means that no one ever reads these texts, they will be unavailable and / or inaccessible. The publisher does not publish more, the libraries - if they had a few copies on the shelves - not renew the assortment and be rid, in the space of a few months, the remaining copies. The production will be improved to the maximum recoverable on the shelves of any library, not easily accessible. It will remain so unspoken and unmet greatest desire of an author to be accessed and read by any reader. And the reader will be deprived of the opportunity to discover and possibly choose to read just one of those books, 'dying.' The solutions of the open-access movement combining the interests of free movement of culture with those of the authors, who probably would accept some form of partial waiver of the - theoretical-benefits of their copyright, in exchange for an easy opportunity to discover and availability of their writings ..."
