Researchers find current disease maps 'astonishingly poor' - University of Oxford

"A systematic review examining the current methods used to map infectious diseases worldwide has found them to be severely lacking. The study, led by researchers at the University of Oxford, makes several recommendations to improve future mapping efforts....The researchers have made the paper and supplementary information completely open access so that anyone can use their data. 'With public health issues like this, we think it is vital than anyone is able to access the data freely without restrictions,' says [Katherine Battle, one of the study's co-authors from the University of Oxford]...."
