Summary:

From Google's English:  Abstract:  In this post, I analyze, from the perspective of Latin America, two projects that advocate for the opening of science: the first was presented by Wallerstein in the Gulbenkian Commission report; the second is the Open Science project, which has gained notoriety since the adoption of the UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science (2021). In the first part, I review the “opening of the social sciences” program proposed by Wallerstein and its main pillars. I then link this project to the concept of citizen science, the FAIR and CARE principles, and the need to advance participatory scientific practice with information justice. I then analyze the Latin American path of open science and the collaborative infrastructure that has developed since the 1950s. I analyse the intellectual, institutional and political conditions that the region needs to deal with in order to embark on its own path of open science, and to what extent the social sciences can be involved, affected and promoted in this process. Finally, I discuss the role of evaluation systems in the region in changing open science without subordinating the communities involved in the co-production of open knowledge.
