Summary:
"It is with great honour and excitement that I introduce myself as the new Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Complementary and Integrative Medicine (JCIM). Over the last decade, my journey as an academic researcher in the field of traditional, complementary, and integrative medicine (TCIM) has been deeply rewarding. Recently, in September 2024, I had the opportunity to visit De Gruyter’s headquarters in Berlin, Germany, where I met with the publishing team. This experience reinforced my commitment to the journal and its future and highlighted the important legacy of De Gruyter, which has been a part ofpublishing since its founding in 1749.
My vision for JCIM revolves around three key pillars: (1) improving the quality of TCIM research through systematic assessment and evaluation, (2) promoting open science and meta-research practices, and (3) supporting early career researchers by encouraging their participation on our editorial and peer-review boards. These priorities align with my commitment to ensuring that TCIM research remains relevant, evidence-based, and capable of making meaningful contributions to the healthcare landscape in the era of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital transformation....
By embracing open science principles, we can ensure that TCIM research is more transparent, replicable, and impactful [3]. I encourage authors to share their data and methodologies openly, and we, as a journal, will actively support initiatives such as pre-registration, open access publication, and the sharing of research materials...."
