Introducing Article Galaxy Scholar: On-Demand Access to Scholarly Articles | Stony Brook University Libraries

"We’re excited to announce a long-awaited enhancement to research access at Stony Brook University Libraries! Through a new partnership with Research Solutions/Reprints Desk, we are now offering on-demand access to scholarly literature on a per-article basis—a major step forward in supporting the research and teaching needs of our academic community.

What’s New? Beginning 4/18/25, the Libraries will pilot a subscription to Article Galaxy Scholar (AGS), a platform designed to supplement our existing library collection. AGS enables alternative, article fulfillment for high-demand journals we do not currently subscribe to, including titles from the Elsevier, Oxford University Press, Springer Nature and more.

How It Works Users will begin seeing a special “Request a PDF” link on article records in our catalog that are:

• Not available through existing library subscriptions  
• Available as open access  
• Available via a pay-per-view alternative..."
