Summary:

"Since the book was popping up online but we hadn’t been sent a digital offprint yet, I emailed the relevant editorial assistant at OUP. They wrote back:2

We really only provide PDF offprints by email if they’re essential for specific purposes, e.g. if you need them for something like a promotion or tenure application or for the national research assessments that some countries undertake. We don’t standardly send them out; this is one of the few measures we’re able to take to prevent piracy. What you can do, however, is download the print PDF from our online platform, Oxford Academic, once the online version is live (which isn’t quite yet). If your institutions don’t subscribe to the Linguistics module of Oxford Academic then I can ask our team to set you up with short-term free access. The difference here is that we can keep track of downloads, the version downloaded from Oxford Academic is watermarked with the details (name, date, time, etc) of the person who downloaded it...."
