Summary:

Abstract:  In 2003, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire found that it had to make a 15% reduction in journal expenditures due to budget constraints. A cancellation of this magnitude would considerably affect the collection of titles and their availability to both students and faculty. A strategy was developed to minimize this impact and also to engender faculty support by involving the departments in the decision making. This article will discuss the criteria and methods used to accomplish the goals of the project.
