"The role:

The Research Content Support Officer supports the development of solutions and services for storing, managing and disseminating a wide range of research content, including scholarly journals, research outputs and theses. These services include the Griffith Research Online institutional repository, Griffith University Research Theses collection, Griffith ePress, and providing Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs).The role may include the analysis of requirements, implementation of upgrades and enhancements, and / or application development across a range of technologies. Under broad direction and guidance, this position will consult with stakeholders and analyse, develop and implement enhancements to solutions and services that support researchers across all campuses.

The person:

You should have a relevant degree as well as experience supporting multiple research content technologies in a higher education environment. You will be comfortable working both as part of a team and independently and should have experience handling complex tasks and contributing to projects in a changing environment. You must be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders including academics, IT professionals, librarians and information managers, and software vendors. Your high-level written communication skills enable you to produce high quality technical documentation and to contribute to reports for non-technical audiences.In addition to being technically proficient, the ideal candidate would have some understanding of relevant metadata standards, Australian copyright legislation and government policies relating to research assessment and open access."
