"PRIMARY PURPOSE/ POSITION SUMMARY: The Scholarly Communication and Digital Initiatives Librarian provides leadership for and management of scholarly communication and digital publishing initiatives of the Rebecca Crown Library. The Librarian manages and develops Constellation, Dominican University’s institutional repository (part of a regional consortial repository) and other scholarly digital content; provides outreach and guidance to faculty, staff and students on submitting repository content and issues relevant to the dynamic scholarly publishing landscape, including open access, author rights and alternative publishing models. The Scholarly Communication and Digital Initiatives Librarian partners with campus and consortial colleagues to create sustainable scholarly communication and digital publishing programs and develops and implements content strategy for the library’s webpage, research guides, mobile interface, etc. The Scholarly Communication and Digital Initiatives Librarian develops and implements usability testing and analyzes the data, develops and implements a universal design strategy for the library’s web presence, and provides technical support for Constellation, ILLiad, SpringShare and other tools used in the library. The Scholarly Communication and Digital Initiatives Librarian provides a full range of reference assistance either in person or via email, chat, or phone and teaches in the library instruction program as needed and serves as library liaison to one or more academic departments. This is a tenure-track, non-ranked faculty position."
