"Director of Publications – Could you play a pivotal role in driving forward the ambitions of a successful and growing Learned Society? The Society has a number of highly successful publications and their journals generate significant revenue which is reinvested in supporting its meetings, education and outreach activities. As a senior member of The Society staff, the Director of Publications will have a key role in developing and driving The Society’s publications strategy, including the continued development of the open access strategy. The successful candidate will lead and develop the Publications team and will work with the Council, Executive, Publications Committee and Chief Executive to develop and deliver the strategy which will sustain and deliver its charitable objectives. The ideal candidate for this important role will have substantive experience in: • the publication of scientific journals; • exceptional team and departmental leadership skills; • experience of managing change in a publications department and • a good understanding of open access and its implications for the future of publishing...."
