"My work over the last five years at California Digital Library (CDL) has been motivated by getting people to care about prioritizing infrastructure for research data sharing, access, metrics, and ethics. In each of these areas I’ve been energized by an uphill battle, and as much as I appreciate the challenge (which is also the name of my favorite reality TV show), it will never cease to frustrate me that the largest roadblock is convincing folks that infrastructure is important. No, not that it’s important. That it’s a priority and the priority for futurizing research assessment and researcher reuse of open data. And this prioritization is not limited to research. Infrastructure for data access and reuse is central to so many national strategies and I couldn’t be more excited to learn and work through these challenges ahead with administrative data at ACF."
