Summary:

"Tenenbaum’s Cancer Commons web site and CollabRx company are keen on using the open science paradigm to leverage information in service of personalized medicine. In the CollabRx vision, physicians whose patients do not respond to standard therapies will have a new information source of science-based alternatives before patients leap off into unregulated and unproven alternatives leading to personalized treatment plans. Cancer patients with be able to access credible information about relevant therapies, lab tests, and clinical trials that can be shared with their oncologists. Researchers with direct interest in patient outcomes will have a community with both clinicians and patient to build, test and refine experimental biology models and bench-to-bedside applications. Biomedical companies will have one more avenue to collaborate in the development of therapeutic interventions and lab services for oncology...."
