PRC releases report on research publication characteristics and their relative value

Carol Tenopir, Donald King, and six co-authors, released the results of their survey of 400 researchers in 12 countries, published by the Publishing Research Consortium. For readers, the single most important attribute of a research paper, after relevance, was that it be "accessible online at no personal cost".
