New ′open data′ site opens to foster NHS transparency - BJHC

"A new website claimed to offer the public data from across the health and care system to improve transparency is now available for scrutiny. ‘MyNHS′ is a portal that offers links to existing data that has already been published on a range of metrics including patient safety, hospital efficiency and food standards, social care commissioning and other areas of concern. A joint project between the Department of Health, NHS England, Public Health England (PHE), the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC), the idea is to develop and improve the site over time via user feedback, say the partners. Data from clinical commissioning groups, GP practices, clinicians and mental health trusts will be added at a later date, while clinicians, managers, patient groups and campaigners will be able to use the data to highlight the best performing areas and improve standards through competition and transparency ..."
