Summary:

"UCL’s REF Team and the Library Open Access Team would like to encourage Heads of Departments and REF UoA leads to attend UCL's second Open Access Conference, which will be held in the Darwin Lecture Theatre on Wednesday 22 October, from 3-5pm. Open access is a key part of the next REF, and researchers need to be aware of the new requirements immediately. There will be opportunities for questions about REF compliance as well as informal discussion and drinks from 5pm. The speakers are from a wide range of disciplines, and include Prof Geoffrey Crossick, chair of HEFCE’s Open Access and Monographs project (http://www.hefce.ac.uk/whatwedo/rsrch/rinfrastruct/oa/monographs/), Prof Robert Harvey from the UCL School of Pharmacy, Dr Verity Emmans from Wiley and Catherine Sharp from UCL's Open Access Team. The conference webpage has more information: https://www.ucl.ac.uk/library/open-access/conference_2014 All UCL researchers are welcome to attend, and it would be very helpful if you could pass this invitation on to your colleagues. Places can be reserved by emailing the Open Access Team: open-access@ucl.ac.uk"
