[From Google's English] "The universities and Elsevier have signed a deal at the last minute. They negotiated for a long time where it fiercely to going. Universities were in danger of losing their subscriptions in January and scientists consider their cooperation to end Elsevier journals. The main stumbling block was the transition to open access. The universities would rather not have their scientific papers behind a pay wall disappear. The results of publicly funded research should be freely accessible to all, is the idea. Elsevier will provide more opportunities for open access. In 2018, thirty percent of Elsevier articles by Dutch authors should be freely available.
