"Everything ready! We are looking forward a great 1st International Open Data Dialog in Berlin on Dec. 5-6, 2012 at Fraunhofer FOKUS Having built the first German Open Data porta and currently buildung the German Open Government Platform with a strong emphasis on open government data, we now invite all our friends, partners, colleagues and all interested people to discuss about innovative business models based on open data. We like to discuss how to promote the potentials of new value-added services using open data offers, how to design, develop and deploy infrastructure and tools for the provision and processing of open data, in combination with closed commercial and private data as well as how to foster transparency in society, business, politics and administration by use of open data. The dialog likes to challenge our view that open data is not only a matter for administration, but also for enterprises, NGOs and science. No one will be able to take this step on their own. Administrations, economies, and societies must come together to open up the potential of data. Today we will take a joint step: The International Open Data Dialog is an ideal forum for a holistic exchange about the latest developments in open data offering perspectives from all the relevant parties involved. Let’s step into the future – competently, conceptually, and jointly. The program offers keynotes from internationally renowned speakers, presentations from partners worldwide in industry, administration and research, demonstrations for open data hands-on, tutorials on selected aspects of the German Open Data Platforms, and of course a lot of room for discussion and interaction with the dialog participants.
