PERF Executive Session on Preventing and Responding to Active Shooter Incidents Wednesday, February 13, 2013 9:00 - 4:00 p.m. Russell Senate Office Building Kennedy Caucus Room Capitol Hill Washington, D.C.

"In response to continuing mass shooting incidents in the United States, including Columbine, Virginia Tech, Tucson, Aurora, Newtown, CT, and many others, the Police Executive Research forum [PERF] will be holding an Executive Session as part of PERF's 'Critical Issues Series in Policing' series on preventing and responding to active shooter incidents. This executive session will bring together police executives and researchers from around the country to discuss active shooters and the unique challenges that they pose to law enforcement. We will be looking at these incidents from several angles, including policy, training, operations and response. In the coming weeks PERF will be working closely with meeting participants to set an agenda that focuses on these issues at an executive level."
