May 25th is National Missing Children's Day

In addition to Memorial Day Weekend the nation will also be honoring National Missing Children's Day this Saturday, May 25th. Established by President Ronald Reagan in 1983, the Day has been recognized as such every year since.

"National Missing Children's Day is dedicated to help remind parents, guardians, and other trusted caregivers and adult role models to make child safety and well-being a priority. It can be used to show appreciation for those who dedicate themselves to finding and safely bringing home those who may be missing. It serves as an annual reminder to the nation to continue efforts aimed at reuniting missing children with their families."

In honor of National Missing Children's Day, NCJRS (National Criminal Justice Reference Service) has released a Special Feature that includes links to publications and related resources for those interested in learning more about the nation's missing children.
