"One of the earliest open access science journals, PLOS, is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a year-long series of events to 'recognise and advance the innovations brought about through the adoption of open access publishing'. The activities will be aimed at members of the scientific community and the public at large ... The organisers say PLOS will partner with media organisations to demonstrate 'the many ways in which biomedical research published on an open access platform can affect peoples’ lives for the better'. Using monthly online dialogues, leading advocates will be invited to take part in conversations to look ahead at the possible future of open access scientific discovery and publishing.
