HOW/WHY IS PLANNING FELT?

Amsciforum 2013-03-10

Summary:

A reflex is not only nonintentional (it feels like something, but something passive): it is also simple and automatic. Intentional action is often more complex than a reflex, to be sure (though intentionally lifting a finger is not, and that's why it's better to stick to that example); but how (and even more importantly, why) should the planning of a complex action be felt, rather than just functed, like a reflex?
