REARRANGING THE ONTIC FURNITURE WON'T FILL THE EPISTEMIC GAP

Amsciforum 2013-03-10

Summary:

The mind/body problem is a problem in functional, causal explanation (how and why do we feel rather than just funct). Ontological declarations about what kind of a thing consciousness is and how many kinds of things there are do not solve this epistemological problem of an explanatory gap in the special case of feeling.
