Indie Booksellers Sue Amazon, Misunderstand "Open Source"

Copyfight 2013-03-15

Summary:

Independent booksellers have decided to sue Amazon for using incompatible DRM. It's kind of sad, since really the idea of going DRM-free isn't gaining traction the way I'd hoped it would. Here's the case on Westlaw, in case you are like me and suspicious of press mis-reportings. And here is Cory Doctorow's excellent takedown of how badly misguided the people are who filed the suit, or at least how badly phrased their complaint is.
