B&N to Exit Hardware Business, not E-Reader Business

Copyfight 2013-06-25

Summary:

According to Jon Brodkin's piece for ars, Barnes & Noble is seeking to get out of the business of making tablets, but would like to continue selling Nook reader devices. Preferably this would be a co-branded piece of hardware manufactured by another company. Dear B&N: your co-branded piece of hardware is called "an Android tablet", given that you see iPad as a major competitor. Trying to play this game any other way is going to land you in the same sorry state that Nokia is in right now.
