3D Printing Patents Set to Expire

Cory wrote a more extensive piece on this for Boingboing than I would have written so I'll just point you there. I would say that there's unlikely to be a "big bang" though it will be nice to get a further price drop on the printing technology as well as the output products. I continue to think that the system is working more or less as designed, but see the upcoming piece on IP and inequality.
