Netflix Goes Where the (Pirate) Demand Is

Summary:
Nice little story on Torrentfreak covering Netflix's use of television show piracy. Not to put too fine a point on it, copying shows where viewers want something that they're not getting through legitimate channels and Netflix uses that information to decide what shows it ought to offer. Obviously this is just one piece of data in a sea of factors that go into contract-signing decisions, but it's worth remembering what Kevin Spacey had to say about Netflix's philosophy: offer what people want, at a reasonable price, and you will turn some of those pirates into customers.
