ACE Letter to US Department of Education on Foreign Gift and Contract Disclosures

On June 5, 2023, ARL joined comments by ACE in response to an Information Collection Request published by the Department of Education on Section 117 foreign gifts and contract reporting requirements. The comments noted that higher education and the US federal government are aligned in their concern about research security and improper foreign influence. The letter suggested that ED and NSF collaborate with stakeholders to align and clarify the similar reporting requirements in Section 117 and the CHIPS and Science Act.
