American Council on Education (ACE) Letter Opposing the DETERRENT Act

On December 4, 2023, ARL joined a letter expressing the higher education community’s opposition to the “Defending Education Transparency and Ending Rogue Regimes Engaging in Nefarious Transactions (DETERRENT)” Act. The letter highlights how institutions of higher education are committed to research security and transparency, and raises specific concerns with the DETERRENT Act’s proposed amendments to Section 117 of the Higher Education Act.
