Summary:
+Evernote has added a lot of bells and whistles lately, including a cool page camera for scanning print docs. But I'm surprised and frustrated that it continues to lack some real basics:* There's no global search and replace, even within a given notebook.* There's no search for punctuation, even if you wrap your search string in quotation marks.* There's no merging and splitting of notes.* Boolean searching is clumsy and limited.C'mon Evernote. Not even the premium edition fills these gaps. If it did, btw, I'd pay for the premium edition. I'm an uncommitted user waiting for these fundamental features before I can commit.Right now, of course, Evernote's competitors lack even more features than Evernote. We could call Evernote the Rolls Royce of PIMs if it didn't lack so many gears for power users. To my mind, neglecting basics while adding luxuries is an opportunity for competitors. I can't be the only one who needs all the basics, but who only needs 5-10% of the bells and whistles. Google Keep, are you listening? #evernote #googlekeep #pim
