Summary:
"Library and Learning Services provides a dedicated team of specialists to support all Sciences students. The Sciences Learning Advisers have been working with students in assisting them to evaluate the skills and strategies for completing their academic work. This includes reviewing written reports and essays as well as helping students to address their approach to examination situations.
As you finalise the semester, and head off on a break, take some time to reflect on how you met the deadlines set for assessment tasks; how you revised the course content over the semester in preparation for exams; what strategies you used to assist in your study; how you approached your research program. This is a good time to forward plan your study approaches for Semester 2 including looking over assessment types and where you might require some specialist, one to one advice. Individual consultations with specialist staff are an excellent way to kick off the new semester. Find some tips and ideas to help you reflect, review and refresh at Workshops and Training.
If you are a research or honours student or an HDR candidate why not take advantage of the dedicated research support librarians within Library and Learning Services who provide free personalised research consultations for research and HDR students. They can assist with:
literature searching: understanding the literature of a particular discipline; developing search strategies; keeping up-to-date with current literature; downloading to Endnote, or a similar tool such as Mendeley
publishing: choosing the right journal; journal impact factors, open access; and the publishing processes
referral to expert advice on bibliographic and data management
altmetrics for impact measurement
managing your online publishing identity
tailored workshops for groups of students (by request of supervisors)
Library and Learning Services offers a range of free services for all students. See this link for further information."
