Summary:

"eLife is looking for an Editorial Community Manager. Reporting to the Head of External Relations, the successful candidate will have primary responsibility as a facilitator and as a champion of the worldwide community of scientists who are engaged with eLife. With a background in scientific research, the Editorial Community Manager will have a good appreciation of the interests and needs of scientists, especially early in their careers. 

Specific Responsibilities 

Working with eLife editors to gather feedback and generate ideas about content, policies and initiatives, and take new efforts forward. This work will involve regular communication with the editors, including conference calls and meetings.

Facilitating the work of eLife’s Early-Career Advisory Group, also helping them to provide input and generate new ideas through calls and meetings and implementing selected initiatives. 

Building engagement amongst eLife authors, reviewers, and our growing community of early-stage investigators. 

Organising and chairing community meetings with scientists on the phone or in person. 

Facilitating eLife participation in scientific meetings, in partnership with the editors.

Creating content – blog posts, event descriptions, audience-specific newsletters and articles, etc.

Public relations – representing eLife to the scientific community via social media and public speaking."
