Summary:

"In July 2013, Peter Murray-Rust also noticed that Elsevier were charging to re-use 'open access' articles for uses that were clearly non-commercial and educational in purpose.

In a blog post entitled: Elsevier charge for re-use of author-paid Open Access article in teaching, Peter points out that at the journal Cell Reports, it would cost him $82 to get permission from Elsevier and RightsLink to reproduce a single "open access" article for 50 students."
