"The Communications Officer in Greater China will work to promote research published in BioMed Central journals, and will support corporate communications for the Springer Nature open research portfolio.
Main Duties:
· Support the growing global communications team at Springer Nature
· Specifically, work to promote the BioMed Central brand and open research activities across Greater China
· Draft copy for science press releases and pitches under guidance of Head of Communications for BioMed Central
· Work closely with the Senior Corporate Communications Manager in China on open research communications
· Be a point of contact for press queries
· Build relationships with journalists in China, and institutional contacts
· Collate media coverage reports
· Upload press releases and manage the general press content on Biomedcentral.com and the China Gateway website
· Manage and organise meetings with journal editors to discuss content
· Assist with communications training for editors
· Ensuring media activity is supported, for example by supporting events, briefings and production of relevant materials including press releases and media kits
· Provide administrative support where needed, setting up internal and external meetings
· Collaborate with other communications teams across Springer Nature
· Work closely with marketing teams on the development of BioMed Central’s Wechat channel"
