Summary:

"Reporting to Head of Reference, the Open Resources Librarian-STEM Liaison is responsible for coordinating the Library’s initiative of supporting discipline faculty to create Open Textbooks as replacement for existing course materials.  This involves: organization of training workshops and materials; providing guidance on open resources and copyright; promoting best practices on accessibility, archiving, assessment, attribution, and resource sharing.  The Open Resources Librarian closely coordinates efforts with CUNY’s Office of Library Services’ OER and Scholarly Communications Librarians.

Individual also serves as STEM Liaison to five departments in Lehman’s School of Natural and Social Sciences:  Biological Sciences; Chemistry; Earth, Environmental, and Geospacial Sciences; Mathematics; Physics and Astronomy.

STEM Liaison contributions include innovative library instruction, research consultations, and selecting print, electronic, and multimedia resources in consultation with discipline faculty to support the curriculum and research initiatives.

The candidate is responsible for outreach and marketing library services by partnering with Science faculty, conducting workshops, developing Research Guides and tutorials in specialized STEM subject areas.  Further, the individual provides general Reference services, sits on library committees, and will develop an active research agenda."
