Summary:

"Reporting to the Head of Scholarly Communication and Licensing the Scholarly Communication Project Coordinator (SCPC) coordinates and provides paraprofessional support for all scholarly communication activities assumed by the Scholarly Communications and Licensing department. The SCPC serves as a "first responder" to questions from faculty, students, researchers, and librarians and library staff related to copyright, fair use, open access, open educational resources, and other scholarly-communication-related queries. The SCPC works closely with the unit head and SCL librarians to develop and deliver new scholarly communication related services to library users and the UCLA research community. The SCPC takes the lead in the evaluation and implementation of new tools, such as data visualization and statistical client-management based software. The SCPC is responsible for the recording and analysis of unit data to be included in reports for the future expansion of unit services and to highlight departmental successes and gaps. The SCPC works closely with the Librarian for Digital Collection Management to focus on the expansion of departmental customer service features such as rapid payment of invoices, analysis of resources in conjunction with expenditures and dissemination of services and options available to users through electronic resource platforms. The SCPC coordinates commercial licensing activity, which involves establishing effective relationships with clients outside of the library, negotiation with those parties, creating agreements, and following established workflows for the fulfillment of the license terms. "
