#WLIC2016 – À la recherche des données – [S.l.] : [s.n.], [s.d.]

lterrat's bookmarks 2017-01-31

Summary:

"The exploitation of data for research is much more than mere analysis. The 5 ages of the data, for a researcher, it looks like this:

  1. Collection of raw data
  2. Data Cleanup and Consolidation
  3. Analysis
  4. Publication

What? Did I say 5? That's true, but they tend to forget the last one. Preservation and discovery, of course.

Setting aside a data repository is not a sufficient input of professionals to research. In Purdue, the library is already very involved with the research team: from the start, recommendations for file organization and filing are proposed by librarians to facilitate the work in the following steps."
