The challenges
This year we propose two challenges, to suit everyone's appetite !
Open data reconciliation
The goal of this challenge is to reconcile much data as possible from open dataset of:
- public contracts
- authors and books of several libraries in Turin
- registries of famous people
- Authors of correspondence of Leibniz
- of pages Wikidata
Interface will be provided that will be proposed of pairings between two entities and the participant will have to decide if they are the same entity or if they are distinct. Each answer (whatever) will guarantee 1 point. About the end of the day will have the most points will win this challenge and its prize!
The challenge is addressed to all , there are no special requirements: experience within one of the datasets in question can speed up your work but it is not essential!
The output of this challenge will be a new open dataset, an evolution of those of departure.
Smart hands on open data
The second challenge rewards the creativity, technical or artistic work , the use of open data: a view of an existing dataset, a scraper to make actionable data "trapped", data cleaning code but also the draft architecture with open heart date .
