Summary:

"To make its data easier to access, the Australian Government operates the website www.data.gov.au. This collates information collected by government agencies so businesses can use the data to develop new products and create new jobs.

As part of the National Science and Innovation Agenda, the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet and CSIRO’s Data61 group have made it easier to find information on data.gov.au. Improvements to the site include a less complicated user interface, faster search capacity, and letting users search by publisher, location, date-range and file format or by phrases.  As the size of the index grows, datasets will be ranked in new ways, such as by popularity, to make it easier for you to find what you want.

To find out more about the changes and to share your feedback please visit the data.gov.au blog.

To learn more about the data initiatives under NISA please visit the Data sharing for innovation or the Data61: Australia’s digital and data innovation group webpages."
